Hair Transplantation

Hair implantation, also known as hair transplantation, is a surgical procedure in which hair follicles are taken from one area of the scalp (the “donor site”) and transplanted to another area (the “recipient site”) where hair is thin or missing. The goal of the procedure is to restore hair growth in the recipient site, giving the appearance of thicker, fuller hair.

What are hair implantation methods?

Who can receive hair transplantation?

Suitability of the individuals is determined with visual exam and medical history. Persons who do hair implants are typically:

• People with hair loss due to genetic or hormonal reasons,
• People who are dissatisfied with a previous implant,
• People who has low hair density,
• People who don’t have time for care and therapy,
• For those who suffer from hair loss due to various diseases.
• Not recommended for people with heart or chronic conditions or during during pregnancy. 

Unshaved Hair Implantation

This method is mostly preferred by women. Typically it is applied to small-zones with a maximum of 3000 grafts. This is suitable for those:

• Who want to fill in only small areas,
• Who has limited time for hair implantation procedure.

Hair Transplantation for Women

Hair transplantation for women can be done with or without shaving the hair. The method is determined according to the individual’s preference. If the area to be implanted is large, the shaved implanting would be beneficial to obtain a dense hair result. If the area to be implanted is small (for example, sides f forehead or temples), unshaved implanting , which can be done with fewer grafts would be preferable. All procedure is planned in advance according to the estimated number of grafts. With unshaved implating, after the initial session of implatation, a second application in 6 to 8 months can be applied to increase density.
